PFP Energy Fuel Mix

All suppliers, including PFP Energy, are required to provide information about the mix of fuels they use to generate the electricity they supply to their customers. They also need to disclose the environmental impact of this fuel mix.

This information is known as the Fuel Mix Disclosure and is published annually.

Shown below are PFP Energy’s Fuel Mix Disclosures for the latest reporting year as well as previous years. We will update this page with the latest Fuel Mix Disclosures as they become available.

PFP Energy stated policy on renewables is summarised as:

“We buy energy from existing suppliers and generators. As such we don’t have full control over how sustainable our energy is. We aim to strike the best balance between low prices and reducing carbon emissions over time.”

The table below shows the PFP Energy Fuel Mix Disclosure for the period 1 April 2017 to 31 March 2018.

Compared to the UK average, PFP Energy supplied a significantly greater proportion of electricity generated from gas and coal. Therefore. a much lower proportion of electricity was generated from renewables. In fact, PFP Energy renewables generation was less than 10% of the UK average. Consequently, its CO2 emissions were above the UK average.

Compared to the previous year, PFP Energy significantly increased purchases of electricity from natural gas and nuclear sources. As a result  it hugely reduced its purchases of electricity from renewable resources.
